Bridget sat on a bench as she bent over, lacing up her ice skates. Although she had been convinced by several of her friends to try skating, she knew they probably hadn't meant alone. But honestly, Bee didn't mind being alone. She wasn't one of those people who just had to be around people, and clung to them even if they didn't like them. No, Bridget didn't mind being alone. Her hair was pulled out of her face in two rather loose braids, and she wore a light jacket. It wasn't actually cold, but being out on the ice sort of made her feel cold.
"Whoa!" Bridget had tried to stand up, but the ice skates had slipped right out from under her, and she found herself on the bench again. Hoping nobody had seen that, she tried to stand up again, this time holding on to the bench for support. This time, she stood up successfully, resisting the urge to cheer herself on. Great, you stood up. Now skate.
Holding her breath, Bridget sort of... wobbled forward. How did people do this? Bee had never been roller-blading either, so she really had no idea what to do. Just... walk, she told herself. Move! This didn't work too well. Apparently, you weren't supposed to pick up your feet so much. "Damn," Bridget muttered, as she slammed onto the ice. She went to pick herself up, and went down again, hard. Would her tailbone ever recover? For a minute, Bridget just sat there, working up her energy and confidence again, trying not to think of how she looked, sitting there on the ice. Then she went at it again.

Danny skateboarded in front of the ice rink center with a pair of skates in his hands. He looked around. And then he picekd up his skateboard and went in. He liked skating. It took his mind off things. Not to mention he was good at it. He went in and headed to the front counter. ''Back again Dan?" the cashier asked. Dan nodded and gave him a smile. "Yeah." he said quietly. The cashier pointed him to an icerink. He said there was only one person in there. Dan shrugged and headed there.
When Dan approached, he looked out at the ice. Shit. One very pretty girl was there. He had to resist looking at the floor. He went out and sat on the bench. He was about to take his etnies off, when the girl fell. Dan quickly reacted since she wasn't far away. He caught her fall. She was now landed in his arms. What did you do Dan? Dan helped her to her feet and looked at the ground, "Sorry." he said, feeling like a complete ass now. He walked away and sat down on the bench, not looking up at her, he took off his etnies and put on his skates. But he didn't go out on the ice. Not yet.

Bridget's breath caught in her chest as she was caught from falling again on the ice by a guy she didn't know. A very good-looking guy she didn't know... For a split second, she was in his arms, suspended above the ice. She heard a muttered apology as she was helped to her feet, and wondered what on earth he was apologizing for. He had just saved her from yet another painful blow on her tailbone. "It's fine," she started to say, but he walked away and sat down on a bench, clearly putting on his skates. Shy? Bridget was used to this behavior occasionally, but what he had done was so sweet that she couldn't let him get away with apologizing for it.
After managing to get over and sit down beside him on the bench, Bridget smiled at him. "Hey," she said. "Thanks for catching me. You definitely saved me from having to sit on a cushion in all my classes tomorrow." Bee had always been a little bit funny, but she wasn't sure humor would work at the moment. "I'm Bridget," said Bee, holding out a hand for him to shake. "Bridget Davis. Do you go to Fairfield High School?" There was a good chance he did, considering it was the only high school in Fairfield. Now that she thought about it, Bee just might have seen this guy around school, but she was pretty sure that he wasn't in her grade.

Danny looked up. She was heading his way. He looked down at the ice, his face bright red. He watched as she sat beside him. Oh crap. And now she was talking to him. "Oh, yeah. Well. Um..." he was about to say your welcome but he was trying to hide his very red face as well. Danny watched as she introduced herself. Danny decided he wasn't going to be shy. He looked up at her, directly in the eyes. Something he didn't do often. Not even with his own father. He took her hand in his and shook it. He got a bit more embarrased. "I'm Danny Snecks."
She then asked if he went to Fairfield High, "Umm, yeah." he said, not confused by the question, just really shy. Then he did something he would have never done at his old school, "Do you, umm. Do you, uh, need help ice skating?" he asked. Then he looked down. "Sorry." he said, not knowing what he was apologizing for. His brain yelled at him so much at the moment. 'Your suck an ass. Your an idiot Dan. You apologized? You shouldn't have even asked.' Dan looked down, burning red and very embarrased.

"Do you, umm. Do you, uh, need help ice skating?"Bridget smiled at him Danny. "I would love some help ice skating," she said, not mentioning his second apology. He seemed just a little shy, and she didn't want him to be embarassed. For some reason, Bee felt like she wanted to get to know this guy. There was always something underneath the person that didn't say much. And Bridget definitely wasn't one of those people... usually, a person got to know her and feel comfortable around her within fifteen minutes. But then again, it depended on the person. Bracing herself for another attempt at skating, Bridget tried to make conversation with Danny. "So what grade are you in?" she asked casually, while really concentrating incredibly hard on not falling. Geez, how on earth did people do this ice skating thing? And to think that some people played hockey... amazing... [Sorry for the bad post. And by the way, who is that in your signature? He looks pretty hot. ]

(Haha....hes a sexy beast. His name is Danny. He's in a band called McFly. They were in the movie 'Just my Luck' with Lindsay Lohan...yeah...oh! hes english too!)
Danny looked up. "Uh, okay" he said. He got to his feet and followed behind her, there to catch her if she fell. "Uh, I'm a Sophmore." he said. He didn't feel so shy anymore. He wondered why. "Umm, lemme guess, junior?" he asked. Wow, he wasn't red anymore. Yes, he did seem to have a major crush right now. I mean, who wouldn't. The prettiest girl he had like ever seen was standing in front of him. But there was no way she found him even the slightest bit cute. He smiled at her from her back. "So, tell me about yourself, I'm a curious person."
Wow, this was the most Danny had talked in awhile. This school seemed to be bringing out the talkitive side of him. The side that wanted to let it all out. He continued to smile brightly. Following close behind, ready to catch her in his arms once more. Thinking how good it would feel.

"Uh, I'm a Sophmore. Umm, lemme guess, junior?"
"Yep," Bridget said with a smile, looking over at Danny. What did a year matter? He actually looked older than her. He was cute. Whoa, slow down, Bee told herself, something she had to do rather often. You've exchanged like, two sentences with this guy. "Well... let's see, what's to tell?" Still grinning, Bridget took a few hesitant skating steps forward and found herself still on her feet. So far, so good. "Well... I love to sing. I like most sports, but I can't say I'm very good at them." She laughed. The only sport Bee would say she was good at was running, and that didn't really qualify with some people. She was good at distance, just running until she collapsed.
"I'm single," Bridget added with a smile, hoping she wasn't coming on too strong. But what was wrong with a little flirting? Danny was one of the cuter guys she'd seen in awhile, and he seemed decent too. Not just one of those guys who... well, not just a dumb jock. "Your turn," she said, not sure of what else to say about herself.
[Oh yeah! I saw that! Hehe.]

(Heh- I hardly liked the movie, but as soon as it was over I looked up the band...lmao....haha. Sexy!)
Danny listened. "I'm single too." he said with a smile. "Is it my turn? Okay then. Well, I live with my dad. The reason why is kind of sad. And I really don't want to make a very pretty girl's mascara run. And no, I don't know why I know what mascara is and why it runs." he said with a small laugh. 'Nice going, keep up the good work' his mind said. That was a first. "I'm into drama." he continued, "I like to act and stuff. And read and write. Oh, and I love playing guitar." he added.
He saw her almost slip and he held his arms out. But she regained her balance. Phew. "Wow, are you sure you've never learned to ice skate before? I think you're doing a fine job." he said with a smile. He came up a bit closer. Now almost next to her. "So tell me more about yourself and how you got so pretty?"

Bridget didn't even think about pursuing the family subject. Everyone had issues with their family, and although it was possible she would learn more about him later, she had no thought of bringing something like that up when they were basically strangers. Bee herself had some family problems. Who didn't? She bit her lip slightly, looking up at Danny again. He was closer. When he mentioned that he played guitar, Bridget couldn't help smiling. She had never admitted this to anyone, but for some reason, guys who played guitar or in a band or something really caught her attention.
At the compliment on her ice skating, Bridget just laughed. "Thanks... I think," she said, smiling. "Maybe there'll be a day when I won't fall on my ass every five seconds." She almost slipped again, (perfect timing) but once again stayed on her feet.
"So tell me more about yourself and how you got so pretty?"
Bridget smiled. "I guess it's just... natural?" Turning rather smoothly on her ice skates, if she could say so herself, Bee turned to face Danny. Starting to slip again, she grabbed his arms, but didn't let go of them. A total accident. Okay, maybe it was just slightly on purpose. "And how about yourself?" said Bridget coyly, moving a little closer to him. "How did you get so sexy?" Part of Bee was stunned that she was doing this, but another part of her wasn't surprised at all. For that part, it was perfectly natural. It was who she was. Bridget was spontaneous.

Danny smiled. She almost fell again. He quickly went behind her to make sure she didn't fall. She grabbed his arm. He let her and smiled a bit. "Just look at me. And hold on. Skating backward is easy." he said, leading the way. "Hmm, I've never really seen myself as sexy, but if you say so, I have no room to argue." he said. He looked her over once. She was so pretty he had to stop himself from doing it again.
He skated forward, leading her back slowly. "So, what other subjects intrest you?" he asked. "And may I ask, whats a beautiful girl like you who is obviosuly part of the 'hottie' crowd, talking to a drama geek like me? I mean, I'm not a stereotype kind of person, but like I said, curiousity." he smiled.

Bridget smiled, brushing a strand of honey-blonde hair out of her eyes. "I'll answer the first question first. Hm... Well, I guess I should talk about school. I hate math. Hate it, but who doesn't, you know?" she paused, hoping math wasn't like, his favorite subject. Then continuing, "English is probably my favorite subject. I... kinda like to write," Bee said a little hesitantly. She had never really told anybody this before, supposively because it was sort of... geek-ish. ''Biology is alright too." She shrugged.
Then Bee went on to the next question. "As for why I'm talking to you... why not?" she asked with a smile, raising her eyebrows. This talk was sort of helping her skating; It was getting easier, even though she was going backwards. Still clinging to Danny helped a bit, too. "Sure, I know we have a clique problem at this school, and that everyone falls into a category. But we're all people, right? Why should it be, like... against the rules to talk to someone who's in a different clique? That's like... like, racism." Bridget laughed at her comparison. "Only different." Then she looked up at Danny again, while waiting for his response.

Danny listened to everything she was saying. He nodded and smiled. Then the question of why she was talking to him came up. He listened more closely. Dan laughed a bit when she said it was like racism. "Racism?" he questioned with a smile on his face. He continued to make sure she didn't fall.
"Okay, forward march." he said with a smile as he slowly turned her around to the front. Success. She didn't fall or slip. "See, your getting the hang of it." he said, the smile plastered on his face.

"See, your getting the hang of it."
"Yeah, I guess I am," Bridget laughed. "It's not so bad. But then again, I have been holding on to you this whole time," she added with a smile. Slowly, she let go of Danny. She didn't fall. Yet. Concentrating on keeping her balance, Bee started to skate forward slowly but surely. Oddly enough, she didn't feel like she was going to fall. It was fun!
"So, do you play... hockey, or anything?" Bee said, a little distracted by her skating. But she wanted to keep the conversation going. Glancing up at Danny, she grinned, glad that he was here. If he wasn't, she would probably still be sitting on the ice, with no idea what to do or how to begin. Really, she shouldn't have come here alone in the first place.

[[As Danny.....too lazy to switch]]
Danny followed close behind. "Umm, actually no." he said with a small smile, "I taught myself how to iceskate when I was about 5. Me and my brother would do it for fun." he said. Oh no. The thought of his brother was starting to get to his head again. He stopped in his tracks. Not a good idea. He quickly caught up behind her. But now he could feel himself getting nervous again. And shy. That always happened to him.
He really wanted to do something else now, but his brother would want him to stay. Get the girl's number or something. His brother was always such a lady's man. So Dan decided to stop thinking about it and follow behind. He wanted to say more. About his past, but he didn't. Not now.

[LOL, that's fine with me.]
"Cool," Bridget said, watching Danny's face closely. There seemed to be something about his family, his brother, that was painful to talk about, to think about. She wanted to get to know him better, to know what had happened, but she knew that now was not the time. For a few moments, there was just silence. Almost an awkward silence, but not quite. All of a sudden, Bee didn't want to ice skate anymore. She could finish learning some other time.
"Do you want to do something?" Bridget asked Danny abruptly. "Like, go somewhere?" Immediately, she braced herself for him to say no. He probably didn't want to do anything with her; probably thought she was a bitch or something, being a 'Hottie' and all that. But she liked him, and wanted to be his friend. At least a friend.
