It was about midnight at Starbucks, and Miguel was sitting at his favourite table, next to the window. He was busy typing on his computer laptop, but would look around every once in a while, seeming to look for inspiration. "I wonder how my friends at Sugar Fountain are doing..." he murmured, thinking back to the good old days when he hung out with the drama nerds, and trashed all his apartments.
"It seems so long ago that I went there, but it was only six months ago that I left." Quickly, he resumed typing. He had unfinished business back at Sugar Fountain that he would need to catch up on. Opening his e-mail, he noted that he had no new e-mail messages. Starting a new document, he typed up a letter to two of his best friends, Kayla and Mercedes.
'Hey girls, how are you doing? I'm fine, my new school is good, but I still haven't made any good friends. I really miss all of you, and I hope to be able to come back soon. Make sure that Brian gets this message, especially since he owes me a rematch. Well, best of luck with the new year, and I hope to see you all soon! Much love, Miguel"

Mercy was out walking around the city of fairfield, after her parents practically pushed her out the door, giving her money and telling her to spend the day out, get to know the city. It was something she hadn't done alot of since her sisters death, and her mother was getting worried. So here she was walking along the sidewalk at like midnight, after spending the whole day...while from 2 pm at least, at the mall and other places her and there. She was dressed in a black lace vintage top, that had clear bottons going down and had a bit of a turtole neck but not to high. She also wore White capris pants that hugged her hips nicely and black dressy sandles. She walked by various shops but didn't really bother going in any. She had to admit it was nice to spend the day out, like old times, but she was thinking maybe it was time to head home.
She was about to cross the street and head in the direction of her house, but stopped as she made it to the other side of the street. She Looked inside the shop that had gotten her attention, it being a Starbucks, the smell of caffine reaching right outside as she smiled and made her way towards the door. She had noticed from the window that not many people were there, 'well no shit it's like 12 in the morning..' she thought to her self as she walk in, making her5 way toward the man working behind the counter. "Hello, what can I get you?" he asked her with a look of boredom on his face. And can you blame him, having to work at this time. She gave him a weak smile and ordered a Chocolate frap. She waited about 5 minutes till he handed it to her, and she paid him. She made her way towards a table near one of the windows where a guy was sitting with a laptop. She sat a table away and put her elbows on the table as she sipped at her frap, her hair falling over her shoulders as she hunched over a bit.

Thinking someone was watching him, Miguel looked up, and was met by the gaze of two large, expressive brown eyes. Being new around here, he felt kind of embarassed. Trying to cancetrate was hard, now that he knew someone was probably still watching him. He tried to send a message to his friend Brian, who he was talking to, he kept making silly typing errors. Brian must think I'm a fool, he thought. Finally giving up, he typed a farewell to Brian and closed the laptop. Looking up, he noticed she had a chocolate frappacino((hope i spelled that right))
"Good morning" he said, feeling stupid at his oh-so-not-witty greeting. "May I ask why you were looking at me so much" He reminded him quite a bit of his sister in Brazil.
((Wow i just realized that both of our charries are from That 70's Show!!nice...))

Mercy looked up quickly from her drink and slightly choked on it. She cleared her throat and looked around nervously before her eyes fell on the guy she had been looking at before. "S..sorry, I just didn't think someone would be here at midnight...you kinda caught my attention a bit....um...sorry if I was bugging you.." she says a bit rushed, making her self blush from embarrassment that he saw her watching him. She looked around a bit and then looked back down at her frap. 'Good work Mercy...' she scorned her self in her head.
((lol i kno thats the first thing I noticed before posting lol ;D))

(Kool Kool!! lol sry im really wired up right now on sugar.)
Noticing her start to go red, he quickly changed gears. "So what has brought you here at such a late time of night? Most people are home by now asleep, and don't you go to Fairfield? I think I saw you in my history class..." He hoped he hadn't scared her too much, it seemed she had just been zoning out from lack of sleep.

Mercy looked back up at him when he spoke again, asking here what brings her here at this time, and if she go's to fairfield. "Oh um, I thought I'd stop by here, get something since I'm not really in the mood to head home. And Yea I go to Fairfield, I'm the new girl, I think you are in my history class.." she says with a small smile, she hadn't really realized that until just now. She looked around a bit and then back at him. "So whats you excuse for being here so late?" she asked him taking a sip of her frap.

"Me?" he asked, alittle taken aback at never thinking of why he was always here so late."I usually stay here late until I go somewhere else, I haven't gotten an apartment yet, so I just sleep where I can, usually outside the dojo, or under soem sheltered bit..." He was amazed at how honest he was being about his life right now to someone he had just met. "Yeah, I know how it feels to be the new guy, I just started coming here two months ago, so I'm still the new guy here." He smiled. She was nice to talk to, not too overbearing in a conversation, but didn't just listen and make him uncomfortable.

She nodded her head and gave a small smile. "Yeah this is my like third day here, so looks like I beat you there. People here seem pretty cool though." she says knowing full well that it was true, people already befriending her at school and all, if only she was as open as them, that the only difference. She looked around and them back up at him, he was still standing in there. "Um...you could have a seat you know.." she says trying not to be rude.

((I am stting silly. LOL, remember, I was here first?))
"Oh, thanks," he said, moving from his chair to the one near her table, "But once you do make friends, they slow down abit asking about you don't worry." He smiled, knowing this should reassure her.
((Blah bad post it's ten at night and I'm being rushed))

"Ah good to know" she says with a friendly smile as she sipped her frap and looked around a bit. "So..whats there to do around here?" she asked trying to make conversation, altough she'd wasn't good at it. "Oh and I'm Mercy by the way.." she tells him.

"Hmm, you know, I have never had anyone ask me what to do in town around here. I know that the club is open, Dawn, and not to mention almost everything else too." He smiled at her, knowing she was trying to make conversation so an awkward silence wouldn't occur. He fell silent, trying to annoy her in a cute, boyish way.

"Oh, ok then..." she says and nods her head. It got silent and she was starting to feel pretty awkward, looking around the starbucks and thinking of something more to talk about. She took another sip and looked back over at him. "So where you from?" she asked him, not really a something to keep a convo going but it would cut the silence for a bit, right.

Miguel smiled knowingly, and decided to start talking after drawing it out few more precious seconds. Bringing his breath together in noisily, he said "I'm from Brazil originally, and you? You did say you were new right?" He grinned again, circling every subject possible so she would talk too.

She sipped her frap and looked up at him when he spoke. "Oh, yea I'm from Miami, families spanish though.." she says letting her fingers play with each other, out of habit. "We came here just about three weeks ago, you?" she asked him, she wasn't great with small talk but she was going to try.

Grinning at her, he asked "Didn't I ask you that? Well I have lived here for about three months now, but before this I lived in Brazil. I decided to come up because I was an exchange student, and this place was so lovely. Before Fairfield I went to Sugar Fountain High." he looked at her and commented "Miami, huh, I've heard that's a really cool place to live or go on vacation..."
