“ Yea my parents” She reassured him. He probably thought she was a joke that she really didn’t know how to play she was just trying to impress him, which she wasn’t. She could care less if he liked her back. Not that would be lying she would care. But she wouldn’t lie to someone to make them like you. She just wasn’t like that. “ come on” She heard he command. She stared blankly at him before she realized what was going on.
She was a little off this morning. She quickly, picked up her ball, and jogged to where, he was. She got there before him, just because she knew where they were going. It was kind of obvious where they were going.
She stood there waiting for him to come. She was taking to long, well that also could be because she was, a little too impatient. So she began she bounce the ball upon her knees, trying to keep it going for as long as she could. Before Duke came.

His azure blue orbs fell upon the dew-covered blades of freshly-trimmed grass, as the morning radiance wafted up into his nose and gave him that sense of "ready to get things accomplished". The figure with buzzed brown hair threw his glance across the school's soccer field, placing his hands on his hips and taking a deep breath with anticipation. As captain, he was virtually always earlier than everyone else. He would show up and set up the cones for drills, making sure they would be occupied and at the same time improving- yeah, it was a good system.
Cleet-underlined shoes stepped across the grass, the moist steps being somewhat comforting for this particular soccer fanatic. He crossed toward the center of the field, scanning the area from this new perspective as though expecting it to change. The school looked painted against the gray sky, so still and peaceful. That was another thing Duke Tatum enjoyed about morning practices. No other kids to come around and try to ruin his good time.
God-knew the last thing the soccer team needed was for those football players to come out saying there was some sort of scheduling mix-up. Last time that happened, Duke came out with a bloody nose- and that was nothing compared to the rest of the football and soccer team. He had gotten out quite well.
Chuckling at the thought, he removed his shirt and flexed his back muscles some- thoroughly enjoying the sensation of freedom against his chiseled upper-body. Quickly, he started jogging along the side-lines, rounding the corners with good timing and kicking a ball in front of him to practice control. Control was a vital aspect for him- considering he was the center forward. Smirking, he rounded early near the goal and placed a well-dealt kick onto the ball, sending it spiraling into the net. Perfect shot.
"Let's see what you got," He said playfully, jogging into the net space and waiting for her to fire on him.

Ah man she caught the ball in mid hit, the ball she was bouncing around on her knees. Duke took off, his shirt man was that a thriller. But you could go to nay soccer game and see that but this was a different kind of thriller. That she is actually going to be playing, with Duke. Her crush, since like the third grade, no that would be exaggerating, but you get the point.
She watched as Duke made the shot, the perfect shot. Then he jogged in to the net. And he wanted to see what she got. Damn was she in for it. She can play, but she wasn’t good, or that is what she thought. “Okay, but I suck” She said as she jogged down the side of the field, passing the ball from, left to right, repeatedly, till she felt comfortable, then took the shoot, didn’t help that she wasn’t wearing cleats, she was wearing regular sneakers which made her slip ever so slightly. The ball went straight to the other side of the net would make it in. but the only thing that would stop it is if Duke caught it.
It was a pretty powerful shot. Most of them were simply because she has all this bottled up anger. Soccer is a very good way to distress some one.

Duke noticed the doubt on her expression, but this wasn't what he was concentrated on. He really focused in on that glimmer in her eyes- that fire that told him she had more in her than she thought. The poor girl underestimated herself, and Duke suddenly understood why she failed to sign-up for the soccer league at school. A smirk threw itself across his face, and he knew this shot would be incredible. He could feel it. She set up and fired, and the ball went hurling in his direction.
"How about a bit of ego boost," He mused, diving with perfect timing toward the ball- that is, perfect timing to just barely miss it. The plan worked out perfectly, as the ball slipped past his finger-tips and pummel-rushed the net- that wonderful swoosh noise emitting behind him. Duke put on a shocked expression, picking himself up and nodding with a grin on his face. Nodding in approval and smiling? That definitely showed a side of him not many saw.
"You'd be a sure thing," He then called out, retreiving the ball and jogging over to Nicolette. "Now, soccer try-outs are starting soon, and I want to see you out there. Forget your parents. Forget your friends. I want you to start thinking about what you want. Promise?" Of course, after saying this Duke put on that adorable grin that he knew would lull Nick into agreeing. At least... he hoped so.

Nick watched him dive for the ball and miss. I the ball slipping threw his fingers. She had a feeling that that was planned. But that was surmised but the that feeling, that she could actually get it pass Duke Tatum. She smiled as he walked over, to her.
He was nodding and smiling, that was something, he did do some often. “ Sure thing Duke” she said with a nod. “I promise” and who could turn down that face. She felt, really good, about this that she could actually fit in to something. Something she was actually good at, but there was a thing, she had to make excuses, for her parents. Even though Duke had told her to forget about what they say, she couldn’t really. She would still try out and everything but just not tell her parents, find something, or someone to be an excuse .Or he could just tell them that this is what she is going to do, and if they don’t like it then too bad. She wasn’t sure yet.
“ Thanks Duke” she said as she wrapped her arms around his neck, and kissed him slightly on the check. Hey would pass up a moment to get Duke Tatum a hug and or a kiss. We know Nick wouldn’t.

Although she appeared slightly suspicious, Duke guessed that he had somehow managed to do some good for the girl. She had actually agreed to trying-out, which meant that not only had he aided the girls soccer team, but he had also affected Nick personally. Maybe she would even get the courage to stand up to her parents- if she did that Duke would probably find her all the more addicting. Who could resist a girl that bold?
She somewhat caught him off-guard when she threw herself onto him, but he managed to secure his arms around her waist and return the friendly gesture. The kiss, on the other hand, had him grinning a little giddy grin that little boys usually had when they experienced attraction toward a girl for the first time. "Don't mention it," He somewhat whispered into her ear, then releasing her and scratching at the back of his neck.
