She nodded simply and sipped her sparkling water. The club scene was not really for her. Picking at the cuticle of a long, clean, perfect white nail, she roughly nudged Aiko on the shoulder. Their eyes met for a brief second, which was enough time for her to send her brain-waves of 'act more ladylike'. Raquella got the partially sober girl to face her new friend.
"This is Mina Cheng."

"Er..you're Aiko right?" Mina asked. "Well, yeah, I'm Mina Cheng, and a Sophomore at Fairfield High." she stated her name. "Well, nice to meet ya."

Aiko looked like she had been slapped. The look sort of dissipated, and she gave a wide smile. "Hi!" She said, giggling into the arms of the 40-something man who had bought her the drink.
"Okay, we're changing seats." Raquella promptly grabbed her cousin, stood up, set Aiko down on the bar stool beside Mina, and sat down in the one that blocked her cousin from whatever his name was. She was toxic around anything that looked vaguely male. She moved her seat in a little closer toward Mina and Aiko, careful to not make eye contact with the older guy.
"Mina, do you have any pets?" That was a sweet conversation item.

"Of course," Mina answered. Most people had pets, like all of her friends did. "I have a Pekingese dog, named Jade, but we call her Jadie, 'cause it sounds cuter. She's around two years old, and what's special about her, is that her birthday is on Christmas!" Mina said, smiling while thinking of her dog. "Do you have any pets?"

She couldn't help smiling and laughing. Mina was...well, Mina was so sweet and nice, and she began thinking 'opposites attract' was not a crock of crap. It was odd that one of the first people she met and clicked with was so unlike her. But she seemed like the ideal companion.
Raquella decided to just answer the question. "My sister has a 2 year old cat, Lucille. Siamese. I don't have any animals myself. Lucille has white fur, and it usually gets onto everything." Her, notorious for actually carving a wooden plaque saying 'stay out' to stick on her door, didn't mind the kitty coming and going as it pleased. Even when it got fur all over her floor and dark clothing, she still let Lucille inside. Now, if that had been her sister Maho walking in to say hi, there would be blood everywhere.

"Mmm..cats are nice," Mina said, hiding the fact she always had allergies whenever she was near them. But still, Mina liked cats as well as rabbits. "So...excited for summer vacation?" Mina asked. Mina was, of course...

"Yeah, I am. I want to go to Six Flags. Or a water park. What about you?" She leaned over Aiko and closer to Mina, trying to make sure she could hear what the girl was about to say. Six Flags...she sounded so juvenile. She took another swallow of sparkling water, and got even more near the somewhat-stranger friend, and lowered her voice dramatically to below a whisper.
"Want some real alcohol? Without the use of 40 year old men with Sailormoon fetishes? If you want something to drink other than carbonated water." Raquella had a plan. Always a plan.

"Six Flags. That's a pretty good choice, even for a water park," Mina said. "I haven't any plans yet. But you know, I might. I plan on going back to the UK." However, Mina thought it'd be a bad choice. Brits didn't like Asains, such as her. At least, that's why she moved to the US. She didn't like life in the UK.
"Pardon?" she asked, slightly suspicious. "Sorry, but I'd rather stick to my Sparkling water, if you don't mind."

She laughed.
"Mina, I would too. Just, I didn't want an alcohol deprived girl wondering why I'm not offering her liquor. But don't worry, I'm not going to push drugs and beer on you. That's too 6th grade. They gave us some drug-awareness program back then. I still have the pencil, too." Raquella hoped she hadn't creeped out Mina too badly. She wasn't a shady character, really. Of course, the 15 year old had sipped some Budweiser and gotten semi-tipsy a few times thanks to Aiko.
Well, story time. She was visiting Osaka for the non-Chinese new year, because her family celebrated that rather than the various holidays. Oh, and Winter Solstice. Aiko had decided to party with the infamous Yukio Takahashi, such a nice 17 year old boy with connections and money. Well, it turned not so nice with the vodka and Cristal. Thankfully, Raquella had kept an eye on her coca-cola, and there was at least one responsible person at that bash. Thanks to the grade 6 program.

"Um..sure," Mina, said, not knowing what could possibly come next. But if Raquella was joking, she would go along with, or so she could hope she was joking...
