Lucy had a very odd, love-hate relationship with the mall. On the one hand, it could be her ideallic nirvana, her Ithaca and her heaven all wrapped up into one. When she was there, her fashion-passion (as her sister so articulately had put it) took over, overwhelming all her thoughts and senses. She'd always been in love with fashion designing, and so the mall probably should have been her Mecca.
Not quite so.
She could get so annoyed with the whole concept of some of these stores. For example, there were jeans for seventy-five dollars that looked like they'd been worn for years. Seventy-five dollars. Lucy could have torn up those jeans herself and gotten them for cheap at a Marshall's or TJ Maxx.
Thus was her thought pattern as she walked into Abercrombie & Fitch.
She really had no idea what in holy hell she was doing here. Really, she was revolted with the priciness of the items in the store. SUre, the clothes were cute, she'd give them that much, but that was where it ended for her. She became so annoyed with these prices that her eyebrows actually furled.
Still, she'd been offered a job. Some scout had told her she had "the look" of indifference that Abercrombie models strived for. Lucy had almost choked on her drink she had laughed so hard. She wasn't a model. She was a short, skinny blonde who never looked at herself in the mirror. Yet the scout had said that was exactly what they were looking for. She had realized she had needed the money and had agreed to the job. She'd figured she'd browse around and see what she'd have to model before she had the shoot that weekend.

The gay side of Drew always took over at the mall. That's why Kiki hated shopping with him, he'd drag her through every store in the mall making her try on 'cute outfits' thus why she had plainly told him to 'piss off' and he went on his own. Walking through the mall Drew had his hands shoved deep in his pockets as he walked through the mall looking for sales.
Abercombie and Fitch, 50% off selected items. If eyes could perk Drew's did. All but running to the store (okay so it was more like skipping) into the store. Looking around his eyes glimmered, he was about to approach a rack of men's clothing when he recognized a familiar short blonde. "Lucy!" He grinned walking over to her.
"What are you doing in a store like this?" He asked with a smirk. Anyone who knew the girl knew it was for from normal to see her frequenting a store like Abercrombie. Unable to concentrate solely on her he continued to look around through the corner of his eyes at the clothing racks.

Lucy's ears pricked up at the familiar voice and she turned around to look at him, the lavender silk camisole she'd been examining still in her hands. It wasn't any more appealing to her than the black-and-white striped tank top she was wearing now with her worn-in jeans, but it was more expensive. And that meant it was better, somehow or another. Better thread count, better brand name, better versatility. She really had no clue what she was getting herself into.
"Hello, gorgeous," she said with a grin as she saw Drew's familiar form. It was certainly the truth--he was gorgeous, and though she called everyone by her various pet names she actually meant his when she said it. Lucy fiddled with her chunky pink plastic hoop earrings, rocking back on her pink ballet slippers absently. Biting her lip, she looked up to him with hesitant big brown eyes.
"You're not gonna believe me," she told him with a grin, keeping the camisole in one hand and running her other through her hair. "I'm gonna start modelling here."

"Ooooh..." Drew said with a sly grin as he walked right past Lucy and to a women's clothing rack. It was good thing he had run into Lucy, if Kiki wouldn't come then he'd shop for Lucy. Picking up a scoop-neck halter in black he walked back over to Lucy. Holding out the shirt to her, "This would look so adorable on you." He said with a nod.
When she sprung her news on him he stopped for a moment arm dropping to his side, "you what?!?" He asked as if she had just told him she slept with a gang of bikers. He stared wide-eyed at her for a moment before lifting his arm to his face and checking his watch, "damn- I only have 2 more hours until the world ends!" He said dramatically pressing his hand to his forehead.
Dropping it back to his side he grinned at her, "that's great! Your moving up in the fashion world!" He said happily, "how does it feel?" He wondered out loud.

She blinked as he started picking things out for her, knowing it would have happened sooner or later. After all, Drew was halfway to being homosexual. She took the halter when he handed it to her, running her hands along the fabric gently. It was soft jersey; she liked that, at least. She couldn't deal with certain kinds of fabric, but jersey was nice. Lucy had never looked she looked good no matter what she wore--not that she cared, of course--but decided to humor him at the very least.
She put her hands on her hips at his reaction, rolling her eyes but not being able to mask her grin. "Hey, it's not that drastic," she countered. "I mean, I'm not that ugly, right? Besides, I think they're going for that whole Plain-Jane's-Okay thing, or else they would have picked some supermodel and not..." She gestured to herself with a shrug. "Meh."
She giggled a little, running a hand through her hair. "I'm actually rather indifferent to it, to tell you the truth," she answered honestly. "I mean, it's Abercrombie, after all."

Drew grinned as she looked over his shirt. He nodded to himself noting how she examined it. He laughed at her slightly, "no your not that ugly." He teased. Smirking at her he thought about it. "Plains are in you know. If you haven't noticed people have been wearing plain tees more often then they used to. Just like cowboys were in last spring. Everything changes, and the world continues to revolve." He said explaining it shortly.
"It's something that's what is important. You're getting somewhere." He said pointedly. "You could still be a nobody. Not... that you ever were." He finished rather quickly. Looking down at her he smirked, "they must go for the shorties." He said laughing slightly, "you should put in a good word for Kiki. Between the two of you you could be what? 7 feet tall?" He continued to smirk before looking around again.
Walking over to a skirt stand he checked over prices before grabbing a jean skirt pre-washed and fraying at the bottom. Humming to himself he continued to walk around grabbing a pair of capri tights. Walking back over to her he held them out to her, "go try them on and show me your modelling skills." He said with a grin.

She glared at him as he made fun of her height, putting her hands on her hips again. "I didn't ask to be a midget, you know," she told him defiantly, sticking one hip out in a juvinille pose she'd never grown out of. "If I had a choice I'd be a tall, skinny, pretty redhead with big green eyes."
Lucy's eyes softened slightly and she shrugged her slender shoulders in indifference, smiling slightly as she let her hands slide off her hips and hang at her sides. "But," she continued, her tone suddenly very pleasant and friendly, "I'm stuck with this, and plastic surgery has never been one of my most highly-regarded ideas, so I'm not gonna try and change it."
Lucy glanced at the clothes he gave to her with an arced eyebrows. Clothes that were pre-distressed. How absolutely ridiculous. She looked to him, grinning and shaking her head. "This is totally ridiculous," she told him honestly, but she took the clothes and headed to the dressing room.
Minutes later she returned, wearing the entire outfit without a trace of self-consciouness. She smiled, twirling around. "Pretty?" she asked with a grin.

"Neither did Kiki so I've heard." He said following her over to the change rooms. Standing outside the entrance to the girl's rooms he waited for her to come out. His eyes glancing over the return racks. Humming lightly on his breath "lying is the most fun a girl can have without taking her clothes off" by Panic! At the disco. He grabbed a few other choice items turning with a grin as she stepped out.
"Ah yes beautiful... spin... spin..." He said twirling his pointer finger in a circle. He watched her spin looking pensievely at her. Tilting his head to the right then to the left he narrowed his eyes in thought. Shaking his hnd in a rather gay fashion he spoke, "No. The skirt does nothing for your hips if not flatten them." He said shaking his head. Looking back at the return rack he pulled another skirt off and held it out to her. It was flowy material cut in squares and sewn together probably would come to her knees if that.
"Take this and try this one. I like the top though." He said with an approving nod. He flung his hand towards her as if to say 'go on'. Turning back to the rack he picked through it looking for something for himself. Nothing really of good value drew his attention and so he looked back to the change rooms waiting for her to emerge again.

She tilted her head at him, her hands finding her hips subconsciously. Lucy looked down to her hips and then back up to him again. "I don't have any hips, Drew," she told him with a raised eyebrow. "Or did you not get the memo?"
Shaking her head and grinning as he handed her the new skirt, Lucy took it and quickly handed him the clothes she'd taken off in the dressing room earlier: her jeans, tank-top, and delicate white bra. It was the only item she'd ever purchased from Victoria's Secret, and she frankly didn't give a damn that she was tossing it at a boy to hold. Lucy promptly turned and skipped back into the dressing rooms to chage.
She returned several moments later, idly twirling a strand of her hair in her fingers. The skirt swished gracefully just above her knee with each step she took and she twirled once for effect before looking to Drew with a small smile. "I like this one," she told him softly.
