Kilee walked out of her class and over to her locker to put away her books before she went to get something to eat. Shoving her books in her locker she slammed it shut and wandered over to a vending machine.
Rummaging around in her jeans pocket she got out the correct amount she needed for a packet of chips. Putting the money in it went directly to the change thingy Kiki bent down annoyed with the machine already they always did this to her hence the reason she hardly ever used them. She rumaged around in her pocket again and got some smaller change and repeated her action putting the coins in they stayed in there this time. Clicking the button for chips she waited for them to fall out. The packet teetered on the edge of the plastic holding it up. "Fall" She said annoyed pushing the machine. The packet still did not fall grumbling she kicked it as hard as she could but not too hard she didn't want to bust a hole in it god knows she had done that before. But the packet of chips just remained in it's position.

Duke was seated with his usual crowd, and things were getting to a point so juvenile he began getting bored with it. "Crush it with your head, Mike!" One jock called out, causing Duke to release a sigh and disbelievingly shake his head. "I'm gonna go get a drink," Duke called out, causing a majority of the people to nod or give some sign of approval. As he sauntered away he would mutter "on the other side of the building." He crossed the cafeteria, avoiding some gush that had been thrown on the ground and spotting the exit door. On the way there, however, were the vending machines.
Standing in front of a vending machine and looking particularly riled up was Kilee, who he had befriended more and more as the year went on. She kicked the vending machine, causing him to furrow his eyebrows and release some huffing laughter before walking over. "Trouble?" He asked her, his eyes jumping at the vending machine to inspect. Yep. It was a class A vending machine problem. They were stuck. Oh how he loathed when that happened.
With one, firm hand, he shoved the vending machine so hard the bag of chips surrendered to him and fell to the ground. "Can we calm down now?" He said teasingly, a smirk written on his face.

"Fall yeh litt-" She was cut off by Duke Tatum. She turned to look at him pathetically. She sighed as she watched him in one clean push cause the chips to fall. "Lucky you with yer strength," she said matching his smirk as she bent down to get the chips. Pulling it out she straightened up. "Thanks." She mumbled as she opened the bag, "what are yeh doin' over here and not with your jock-head friends?" She asked arching an eyebrow. "How can yeh put up with them twenty-four/seven?" She asked him. She had nothing against them in general it was more the fact they all thought they were gods and better then everyone else that bothered her. She held out the bag to him, "Chip?" She offered with a smile.

"Lucky me, I guess," He responded coolly, laughing some before she straightened up and spoke once more. "Don't mention it."
As Kilee mentioned the jocks, Duke looked over his shoulder and noticed they were lifting each other and doing a very small version of crowd-surfing. Wincing at the stupidity of the idea, Duke just turned back to Kilee and released a reluctant sigh. "Well- I didn't want to get caught in that." He explained, gesturing toward them.
"I don't put up with them all day- just for a few hours. They're not that bad all the time, though, they can be pretty cool sometimes," Duke attempted to justify their behavior- he did that more often than he should've.
"Uh, nah, I'm okay. Thanks," He declined politely, scratching at his neck.

Kiki continued to watch them with mild interest until one of them was dropped she bit her lips to keep from laughing, "Oh yeah theres tha future of our country," she said with a small laugh. She looked back up at him, "I'm sure they can be, but they'd be even cooler if someone gave them a swift kick in tha ego and brought them down off their high horse." She said pointedly eating a chip. "I suppose it just tha I'm not used to bein' around cliques like this. Back 'ome I hung out with the guy soccer players and they didn't really care. Where here you almost have to work to be accepted into a group." She shrugged.
"Were you planning on getting anything?" She asked pointing to the vending machines. She took another chip and took a bite. She sighed lightly and looked back up at Duke with a grin. America was so different from Ireland.

What Kilee didn't really seem to realize was that she was doing the same thing they did. Stereotyping them. They weren't all like that, just a few of them that tended to rile everyone else up. It really wasn't as bad as some people made it seem. Then again, maybe he was biased.
Duke frowned somewhat, though he nodded with understanding. He could see where she was coming from. "I know it might seem like that, but people here are a lot nicer than they seem- it's just these damn cliques that tend to classify people down to their every last fiber. But... I'm not like that- at least I hope not."
Duke was an active clique-fighter. He was completely up for the ability to blend people and not be so stubborn about who talked to who or who breathed who's air.
"Not really, I was just coming here to get away from them when I saw you." He recounted the story, shrugging.

Kiki shrugged, "I don't think your like that." She said simply. "I think the only reason I don't try to get into one certain group... clique whatever you want to call it. Is because I'm just a little bit of everything." She said simply. Kiki smiled, "Well I'm glad I'm able to draw your attention." She said with a laugh.
Looking around she sighed, "Are you done here then? Want to go somewhere else?" She asked hopefully. Kiki didn't bother eating at the school cafeteria most of the food was either meaty or made with animal by-products so she just waited to go home to eat. She usually came off as anorexic but she could eat until the cows came home.
Finishing off the minscule bag of chips she crumpled it together and threw it into the garbage nearby. Rubbing the back of her neck awkwardly she looked back up at Duke. "Your too tall..." She said with a smirk.

"I think the only reason I don't try to get into one certain group... clique whatever you want to call it. Is because I'm just a little bit of everything."
"Hey, we all are. Some just admit it more than others," Duke reassured her, a clever smile piercing his lips.
"Are you done here then? Want to go somewhere else?"
"Yeah, I guess. Bell's gonna ring in a bit." Duke announced, motioning toward the clock that seemed to be glaring down at them.
"Your too tall..."
"Well you're too short," Duke wittily retorted, patting her on the head.

Kiki shook her head at his response, "Yeah okay." She smirked. Crossing her arms across her chest she motioned to the door with her head, "yeh goin' te come?" She asked him hopefully as she started towards it. "We can go te locker bay then." She said with a shrug, "it's going somewhere at least." She said cheekily. She stuck her tongue at him as she looked up, "I didn't choose te be 5'4 if I had it my way I'd be 5'9. Instead I'm cursed with a small body, big attitude." She laughed.
