Lindsay strolled into Jack's and ordered a coke. She sat down at a nearby table and when the coke arrived, she insisted that she didn't want any food. She sighed and took a sip before leaning back and thinking about how miserable her day was going.

Duke sauntered in with a calm look plastered to his expression and good intentions fiddling through his thoughts. Mainly it was because he had been allowed to sleep in, had an awesome breakfast, and well, was just naturally very calm when he got his way. He left his house immediately at noon to catch some lunch, and decided a local diner might be just the ticket.
His eyes fell upon the person at the counter, and the gestured him toward the tables. Nodding with understanding, he walked off in the direction of the seating and glanced around. He didn't really want to eat alone... maybe he'd call someone...
Suddenly, he spotted someone that caught his eye. A breath of fresh air, if you will. Standing before her, he offered the girl a slight smirk and pointed at the seat across from her. "You up for some company?" He questioned coolly, waiting for a response before seating himself.

When someone approached and said something, Tina snapped out of her thoughts. "Oh. Hi. Sure, Company would be nice." she said smiling at him. She waited for him to sit down as she took another sip of her coke. Duke right? Yes, Duke. The guy Summer liked. Ahh, she understood why now. She sighed a little and let out a small smile to him.

When he received the okay, Duke sat himself across from Lindsay and offered her a polite, mild smile. Something about the way she looked at him told him she knew more about him than he had originally thought. "My name's Duke," He greeted her a little more formally, lacing his fingers together on top of the table as his eyes took a cursory glance around the room. There weren't many people here- surprisingly- this place was usually packed around this time of day.

"Nice to meet you Duke. My names Lindsay. Lindsay Kelley." she said. She didn't want to ruin his introduction, but she already knew who he was. She smiled at him and smoothed her black lacey skirt out over her legs. She looked over at him. Then she wondered why he would even want to sit with her? She shrugged it off instead and didn't worry about it.

"Likewise," Duke replied coolly, taking a second to tug at the hem of his gray, sleeveless muscle shirt. He felt particularly comfortable that day. There was just something about the atmosphere that assured him he could take a deep breath and relax for a change. "I'm guessing you go to Fairfield, right?" He asked in spite of conversation, referring to the well-known high school. It was the main one- but there were private schools and smaller schools around Fairfield City.

"Yes I do. And you?" she asked knowingly. She knew a lot about him through Summer. She had told Lindsay a thing or two. She gave him a small smile, taking a good sip of coke. She looked so different compared to him. Oh well. Not her problem. She sighed as she brushed a starnd of black hair behind her ear. She put her elbows on the table and played with her black bracelets around her wrist. "So, what brings you here today?" she asked questionably.

"I figured," He retorted to her original answer- it wasn't likely a person their age didn't go to FHS. "Me? Yeah, of course." Duke could only respond, shrugging lightly before staring at the passing waiters and waitresses- none of them were exactly doing their job... because in the whole fifteen minutes he had been there, he hadn't even been spoken to by an employee.
"Well," He began, suddenly uncannily raising his voice to a point where a nearby waitress could hear, "I was hoping I might get some food."
When the waitressed realized this with widened eyes, she scurried off to fetch the waitress assigned to their table. He had to chuckle a little at this. "I'm just gonna go ahead and assume you came in for a drink."

"I did, but now food is starting to sound really nice." she said at the grumble of her stomach. She gave him an akward smile and reached into her small black purse for her ringing cell phone. She understood it wasn't polite and immediatly turned it off before turning back to Duke as a waitress came over. "May I take your order?" asked the waitress. Lindsay naturally let Duke order first and then she would.
- Your a fast typer! =P -

((I know )) His eyes glazed with glee as the waitress finally scurried over, clutching desperately onto her little notepad and a second-hand pen with the words "Apple Inn" designed on it- the paint was cracked, however, giving it a very... rusty look. (Yeah, I just spent a sentence on a pen, so sue me) Lindsay shut off her cellphone, and he felt a small smirk take his lips by surprise. She seemed like a really nice girl. "Could I just get one of those famous cheeseburgers with fries?" He ordered after realizing Lindsay had nonverbally beckoned him to do so. That meal sounded really good about then- his stomach grumbled just at the thought of it.

Lindsay thought about what to order and decided a veggie burger sounded good. "I'll take the veggie burger with fries." she said politely. She added a 'Thank you' in before the waitress walked away. She smiled back at Duke who was obviously surprised she turned her cell phone off. She assumed that that was something a guy like him wouldn't do. He didn't look like a guy polite enough to do that. But she remebered, 'Never judge a book by its cover' and immediatly waited to see for herself how polite he really was.

"So... vegetarian? Or just eating healthy?" He pondered outloud, hoping she would take no offense from his curiosity. There was just something about this girl that made him feel like he was being watched... closely. For a moment he could've sworn he saw a pair of eyes burning on him from the window, but when he jerked his head to inspect, he saw nothing. Yeah- definitely an eerie feeling. Maybe it was just something about this place...
He turned his head to the left to notice exactly where the feeling had come from- a pair of middle-school girls were gaping at him with widened eyes- most likely just souls lingering outside of their bodies for a few moments. He wondered how they would feel when they realized what they were doing. Blinking, Duke held up a hand and waved at them, watching as they jerked their eyes back onto their meals.
"Yeah, so..."

Lindsay laughed at the childish girls. "Oh no. I'm not a vegitarian. I won't eat beef though. any form of a cow cut up and cooked." she admitted smiling. When Duke waved at the girls she let out a little giggle. Summer was right. Everyone thought this guy was hott. Fortunately, Lindsay didn't have any feelings for jocks. They weren't her type. She was more into the guitar playing, guys with peircings and spikey black hair.

"...Is there a different form of beef?" He half-joked, smirking. Duke was glad to know he met someone who wasn't so quick to judge him. It was a relief- a breath of fresh air, as Duke had originally called this girl. One would be surprised at all the stereotyping people placed on him. And to think that he was such an active fighter of this, yet it still occurred. Sighing at the thought, he drummed his fingers once on the table's surface.

Lindsay laughed too, not taking his joke really seriously. "So.....do you have a favorite band?" she asked, trying to keep a flow of conversation amoung them. She smiled again and watched as the food was brought over. She took a fry and shoved it into her mouth. She wouldn't respond until she was finished chewing though.
