Miguel walked along the beach, hoping to see the place where Lindsay's friend Pete committed suicide, something very unfortunate to Miguel. He just wanted to go and pay his final respects to Pete. Reaching the spot, Miguel dropped to his knees and looked at the dark spot where Pete had lost his life's enjoyment to a knife of his own possession. He brushed his hands across the coarse sand, clumped together with dried blood. The air was cool as it rushed across the beach, and the tide was far out, letting people walk out farther than usual. It was about 8:00, and the sun was just starting to set, putting a golden glow to everything. Miguel rose, and went down to where the sand was still moist. He started to grab large armfuls, and brought it to Pete's deathbed. Starting to sculpt, Miguel formed a very simple gravemarked with the words: "Pete Starantino A good friend who will be missed He was loved By more than anyone who could know Miguel sat dwn in front of the new marker, and sat staring at it and the water in the background. Beginnning to speak to it, Miguel said "I hope that you, Pete, will have more opportunities for happiness in your death than you did in life, and you will always be remembered here as someone who was there for his friends when they needed it. I just wish I could have been here to help you step through this time of dourness in your life's story. Alas, it seems it was to be this time that you should go. " Cocking his head, he commented as an afterthought "If only you could speak to us somehow" He didn't know that Lindsay was still communing to Pete here. Miguel concentrated, hoping that Pete would be able to talk to him. He closed his eyes and imagined the young man he had seen at school was sitting in front of him.

"Hello Miguel." Pete said in his normal voice. It was weird, Pete himself didint know if he was just being seen by these people, or if he was still really there. Pete read what he wrote. "Why thank you." He said with a smile. Pete looked nothing like he use to. He didint looke underfed, pale. Mor alive actually.
He sat infront of Miguel. "How is life treating you?" He said with a smirk as he leaned back on his elbows in the sand.

Miguel opened his eyes, and saw Pete stting there in front of him, looking much better than Miguel had pictured him. "It seems that death, ahem, has been good to you." Miguel commented, adding "You're welcome, it's the least I could do for someone I've been hearing about alot more than usual lately." He smiled at the spectre sitting in front of him.
"How is life treating you?" Pete said, smirking as he leaned across his little piece of the beach.
"Life, ah, life is treating me very well, I wish you could see some of it, but I guess you can. How does Death treat you?" Having a sudden strike of insight Miguel asked "Just because I think you could know better than anyone, this is going to seem really personal, but, have you met God?"
((Ha, give you religious hardball there, sorry, and hope ur arm heals quickly with much strength returning.))

((ha ha, thank you )) Pete looked at him with another smirk to his last qustion. "I don't know if i have. You seem to make gods for yourself because everyone seems to expect something diffrent everytime they think of him. I met my own personal Jesus though." He said with another smirk. "How is everyone?" He asked meaning everyone. "Thats the only thing i miss to be truthfully honest. And to answer your qustion it seems to be treating me much better then i have been." He added with a smile.

((OOOHH..Good one!!! I like you already you know how to be politically correct yes!!))
"Hmm" was all Miguel said to Pete's comments on God and his 'Personal Jesus'.
"Well, everyone, I don't know that many of them, you have always seemed a little more... I hate to use the term, but, 'Popular' compared to me, so I didn't really hang out with your crew. But I do notice that the school spirit is a bit more lacklustre than it was, since you, well, we know all this, don't we??" Miguel smiled benignly at this, then turned his eyes agin to the sun, which was just skirting the horizon. "It's amazing what you can miss after a decision like that, isn't it? Hell, I know all about that, too, believe it or not..."

Pete sat there and nodded. He never considered himself popular. But he just smiled any way. "I think in a week i have seen everything i need to see really. People think they need this long extended life to the point when your 89 and they are make you pop pills to stay alive because you are so affraid you are going to miss something. But if you live a short life, and you notice some sort of beauty in something thats all you need. You don't need to see something that will happen in 50 years to fufill you." Pete smiled slightly, he looked crokedly at the sky with a half smile.

Noticing the glance upwards, Miguel smiled. "I guess you're right, and it's easy for a dead person, no insult intended, to think that it's easy to die, but for some reason, when we are alive, there is a survival instinct, we just don't want to die, and it's hard to get past that."
Looking up, Miguel saw a few clouds traced along by the setting sun, and thought of some of his family and what they would be doing right now...

"I get what you mean." Pete said with a grin. He did. But Pete was one of thsoe people who was turly not affraid of death. He was told his whole life about it, and it never came as a worry to him. "I do regret doing it in some ways though. Like i can't talk to everyone. I would love to, but there are so many people I am aloud to talk to. I chose only few."

Miguel frowned. "So you decide to, instead of talking to someone close, talk to me, some random guy on the beach who has done nothing for you? It seems a little unnecessary and a pitiful waste to talk to me, instead of, say, your mother, family, best friends..." Trailing off, Miguel muttered "I think you get what I mean, right?"

"I would rather talk to someone I never met, then talk to someone I had the chance to meet. And you arent a pitiful waste. I choose you cause you looked intresting." Pete said with a small grin. "I don;t have many choices. I talk to people who seem like they would care, you did. No one has come by here but you." It was very much like Pete to just talk to someone random. He found it much more usefull. "And I do talk to my mom... shes here with me." He added still with a small smirk.

"Ah, now I see your reasoning." Miguel chuckled, but argued "I've seen other footsteps that have come here, such as Lindsay's, so I wouldn't say I'm the only one that cares." He began to make symbols in the ground in front of him, making his hands work on something so he would not lose feeling in his arms. "I wonder sometimes how many different people there are like you around the world, or even just around this area..."
Looking up, Miguel started to sing a limerick that he had heard in his early childhood.
"O what I could see to brave the hardest time it must be me but was this ever a crime?"

Pete looked at him. "There are, and they will be fine." Pete said agian with a nod. Whenm he heard what Miguel said he smiled slightly. "See, I didint waste my number of people."

"Don't ask about that, I just thought that it would be good to sing it for some reason, it was from my childhood" the tanned young man commented, still looking up at the now darkening sky, as the sun had finally faded from view, the golden sliver slipping from the grasp of his eyes. Looking back at Pete, he asked "Is Pete short for Peter? Just curious, and I just want to keep talking".

Pete laughed, "Yes my parents got very creative as you can see." Pete looked at the sky noticing it was getting dark. He still enjoyed the dark for some odd reason. "And the only song i remember from my childhood is ring- around- the rosie, so consider yourself lucky." He said with a smirk.

"Hmm." looking up at the sky for one last time, he stood up slowly as to not get a head rush. Looking down, he said "Well, the living still need some sleep, so I will bid you goodbye. Perhaps we may speak again sometime, it was time definitley not wasted." He put an arm out to shake his hand, even though he thought that it probably would go through his arm.
