Shadows flit passed the waning moon, no thicker than the pinprick stars surrounding it. Clouds waltzed in the sparse light from the heavens, drifting across an endless dancefloor.
Seoras stood, bathed in the unpleasantly piercing lights that illuminated the parking lot of the mall. He sighed and leaned against a pillar, gazing out over the field of tar. He watched as a couple stepped out of a parked car and walked hand in hand toward the entrance. Almost simultaneously, they each pulled out ciggarettes and lit them, pale smoke curling up into the arched roof above him.
"Digusting," he thought rather bitterly. "I'd sacrifice anything to keep from becoming like them, even that."
That was a dream. That was something he used to want more than anything else. He had even had it once, or so he thought, but it had slipped through his fingers like so much golden sand. Now Seoras didn't even know if he truly wanted it anymore, or if he were worthy of such a thing...
The spent ciggarettes were dropped and crushed beneath a pair of heels and the two smokers slash potential lovers sauntered into mall, hands glued together and arms swinging with ever step. Seoras watched as they disappeared through the doors and turned back to the parking lot, which was no more pleasant to look at. "Why haven't I called for a ride yet?" Something held him there, but he had no idea what yet. His hand dipped into his pocket, closing around a cell phone. To call or not to call...

Night were no fun. Especially when no one was home. Adrianna would sneak out and just walk around with nothing to do. She would sit in front of the movie theater. Not really wanting to see a movie, but to see the people who walked through. She found it interesting. She saw, Mental cases, Lovers, hippies, you name it, she has seen it.
Adrianna sat there, her knees to her chest when she noticed one of her best friends standing there, and it took her a while to even notice. "Hello..." Adrianna said with a small smile attempting to get Seoras attention.

It wasn't that she couldn't get a date to the movies. Oh, no. Her father lined up Yukio Takahashi for any date he knew she was going on. It got so bad, that Raquella stopped telling Mr. Sawamatsu about her night plans, and simply said "daddy, I'm going out"
She was a curious sort. She preferred seeing movies alone, though. Companions always nudged her, stuck their arms on her, tried to 'get to' variously numbered 'bases', as her cousin Aiko described them knowingly, but she just referred to them as 'rape' rather than '2nd base and 3rd base'. So, there she was, after a movie. And the shit about being 15, no car. She walked out, standing at the entrance. Nighttime was a swirl of slightly cold wind, blowing along the dirt, tobacco, and rubbish of the city, a layer of scum and graffiti. Raquella was alone.
Tugging on the sleeves of her cream white V-neck sweater, she stood there, contemplating who could drive her home. Father would bitch about her choice in men, her brother was out...and so, she waited for nothing, just standing. Standing. Expecting something.

Brian floated in the breeze, wondering about the last few nights that he had been through. He wished he could just go back to how it was, how everything was, before the incident at Sugar Fountain. He rubbed his back. "Ow!!" he started, feeling pain still where the blade had penetrated through his back to his stomack, leaving him with a permanent cavity that had healed, but was still tender. "I was a fool not to expect it" he sighed, knowing that much was true. 'But how can I redeem myself?' he thought, not thinking of much. He saw some schoolmates scattered around the parking lot, but decided not to cause any chaos as a fleeting, almost entertaining thought came into his mind. Looking over again he saw the girl, Raquella, that reminded him so much of a girl he knew at Sugar Fountain. But that was long ago.

"Hello..."
A familiar voice pierced his thoughts, his hand reflexively releasing the phone and rising from his pocket as he looked around. He saw a girl sitting, smiling at him, off to the side. Then he blinked, unsure as to how he had missed seeing her before. Seoras walked slowly over, hands back in his pockets.
"Adrianna? Hey, how have things been?" As he walked over, he saw a broody Asian girl standing in one of his former blind spots that looked almost familiar. Something reached up to ring a bell in his head, but it missed the rope and fell over into the dust that had been cluttering his mind recently. "I can't believe I didn't notice you over here all be yourself."

"I didint notice you either, though we seem like we would be hard to miss." She laughed slightly standing up. "I am glad to see I am not the only one over here this late..." She said looking at the other two who were there also. "Things have been good... you?" She said answering his qustion. She put her hands in her sweatshirt pocket and leaned back agianst the wall facing him. At least she wasent alone like she usauly was.

Tah-ah-ah-kikyo-ti-tah-ah-ahk-iyo
That annoying, techno-esque ringtone. She didn't know what the hell it was, but it was cute. She clicked open her silver phone, the one with small Hello Kitty stickers on it and a cute Asian-looking cat with a psychedelic backdrop for the background. Pressing a button to free these strangers from her ring, she was greeted by a loud "Raquella!". Mother's voice.
"Mother, I'll be home. I was going to call for a ride but...I got coffee... No, no boys mother. I will call Yukio and Mr. Takahashi tomorrow. No, mother. Yes, I will come to their dinner. I do not favor Yukio. You do not..." The conversation faded into angry Japanese, loud, but she tried to quiet herself as to not disturb these people. Her thin, black and gray fur-lined skirt offered little protection from the night chill. She hoped a ride was on it's way.

Brian scoffed at all the sudden activity, putting his hands into his trenchcoat, turning around, and going into the close-by froested area to relax in the dark. At least here I don't get distracted from my thoughts" he muttered. He really wanted to get away, just run away, and never see anybody again.

"One would expect so, but apparently not. I can't complain...the penguins will get me," he answered with a completely straight face. An occaisional talent of his, he could somehow manage to say the craziest things in a way that makes it sound like he was completely serious. More than a few people had fallen prey to the confusion such seriousness induced. "So, what brings you here this late? Dinner, a movie, hot guys like me, all of the above, what?"

Adrianna heard his reply, then smiled. He was good at keeping a straight face with everything, unlike Adrianna who just laughed at every little thing.
"So, what brings you here this late? Dinner, a movie, hot guys like me, all of the above, what?"
Adrianna smiled again, "Oh the hot guys of course." She joked. "Nah. My house is just boring. My parents get home late, so i just leave. And well, nothing interesting really exist in this town, except the movie thearter... though thats sort of pathetic." She smiled slightly. "And i am sure my beauty didn't bring you here, so whats your excuse?" She said sarcastically, with a small laugh.

"Well, it may not have brought me here, but it's certainly keeping me here." It's not like this wasn't a true statement, he could have called someone to come get him by now, even though he might've reconsidered since his sister was the only one home. He didn't really trust her behind the wheel; you'd understand if you saw her play those racing games in the arcades.
"I just came to get away from my sister, she's having a big slumber party thing. My brother and parents already skipped town, but I didn't have time to pack so I bolted my room and escaped out the window." Despite what it sounded like, Seoras had barely exaggerated. "And I find some of the more intelligent girls here to be interesting, though I guess you might not be into that sorta thing. Go figure." He shugged. "I've just been wandering around for...too long, so I came out here. I was gonna call in a ride home, but I really don't feel like going back. At least not if my sister drives," he said, pulling a face clearly saying that such a thing is a frightening experience.

Adrianna listened then laughed at his face at the end. Adrianna wasn't a slumber party person herself, she just liked to hang out, and go home and see her friends again when ever. "I know how you feel. I have been here sense 8." She said, three hours and nothing interesting till now. "Well, you want to do something so we don't die of boredom?" She said with a small grin.

"Only since 8? And you're already bored? Hard to please, aren't-cha?" Truth be told, he hadn't been there any longer than she, but it was fun to mess with people's minds. Seoras put his hands out, palms up, and began making a motion like a scale, to 'weigh' the possibilities. "Hmmm...Do something with a hot girl...stand out here and by bored to death...tough call. What did you have in mind, anything special?"

Adrianna gave him a sly smile at his comment. "Carefully buddy or I'll set Wyatt on you." She joked with a laugh. "I will do anything worth while. Truth be told sitting here is not what i call exciting. Oh... want to sneak into a movie?" Adrianna said with a grin so he couldn't tell if she was serious or kidding, then again she didn't know either.

"Eh, I can take him. I'll scare him away with my otherworldly darkness." Yeah, real scary...not. Seoras didn't really do that 'scary goth kid' thing.
"Sneak into a movie, eh? I'm in. I hate to be a partypooper, but do we actually have to sneak in? What kinda movie are you talking about?"
