Duke's sporty vehicle swerved down one particular road until the Fairfield mall towered over them. It was one of the largest malls in the United States, consisting of all types of stores and attractions. It even had a rollercoaster! Sure, maybe the people at Fairfield were big dreamers for constructing such a place, but at least teenagers like Duke had something to do.
His car swooped in through a backroad, where the high walls of the mall didn't look like themselves. It was kind of like Disney World, where going behind the scenes meant stepping back into reality and finding the same cold, crude buildings you were used to. He stopped in a small series of parking spaces, three quarters of which were vacant.
Quickly, Duke got out of the car and peered over at one particular door as he rounded the back and opened the door for Heather. "This oughtta be interesting," He muttered to no one in particular, beaming at her and hoping she was up for something different.

"This sounds fun," Heather said with a laugh. She loved shopping, loved the mall, but she was guessing that shopping wasn't what Duke had in mind. There were many more exciting things to do a the mall than shop. There was food, a rollercoaster, a pool (even though they had just come from one), bumper cars, and other good stuff like that. Fun for all ages, and you could usually find hundreds of teenagers there on a weekend like this. Stepping out of the car, Heather quickly looked in her bag to make sure she had her wallet. She did, with about thirty bucks inside. Not as much as she would like to have, but she could deal, unlike when she went shopping. At those times, Heather made sure she had a couple hundred dollars with her, happily provided by her parents. "What are we doing, exactly?" Heather asked Duke. Were they even going in the mall? She wasn't sure, seeing as they were in a back alley at the moment. Not that she'd mind if they didn't go... Heather was simply up for a surprise right now, and she really had no idea what Duke was doing.

"Oh it should be..." ((glares at fellow posters if they don't show up))
Duke's expression held a very anticipative look to it as he led Heather over to the solid, metallic door, grabbing the handle and inserting a small key he seemed to pull from out of no where. The lock clicked and he pulled the door open, releasing a musty, cold air stained with the fragrance of something very foreboding. It was a scent only a place like this carried- and had a tendency to keep one on their toes.
Everything was as dark as the night, save for a fluorescent glow that seemed to come from the extremely high cieling. This place was two stories stack on one another, with several openings to provide for all the more of an interesting experience.
Right by the door- on the inside- there was a small basket. Duke crouched and pulled out a few things- two vests, one which he slipped on himself and the other which he gave to Heather- and two little laser guns. "I guess you know what we're doing now, right?" He said with a smirk, laughing some as he handed her the "weapon."

By the look of the door, Heather had a feeling she knew where they were... but she wasn't sure until the door was opened. They stepped inside, and by hte musty scent in the air, Heather knew where they were. It was place she had been to a few times before, and it had been a blast every time. Laser-tag! Only Duke would have thought of this. It would be fun, that was for sure, but it was especially fun if there were more people. ((*hint hint*))
The place was like a pitch-black maze, with all sorts of levels and landings, and Heather was pretty sure there was a second floor, which would make it all the more interesting. Heather squinted through the darkness, not seeing anyone else there, but she hoped more would show up. Duke handed her a laser gun which she took with a smile. "Oh yes, I know what we're doing," she said in reply to his question. Laughing, Heather pulled the vest on, switched on the gun, and disappeared into the darkness of the Lazer Zone.

Summer was already in the maze suited up and ready to shoot. She loved it here. She got to shoot things...that weren't to be harmed in the proccess. She noticed a couple figures in the distance and drew nearer to them when she notice it was Duke and Heather. "Hey Guys!" She said hiding behind a box so they wouldn't shoot her.

Lindsay who was already in the room with Summer and on the same team smiled over to her and followed her. She heard the door open a bit and she held her gun up. She moved farther from Summer. "Remeber Summer. Don't shoot me, even though its fun to shoot people." She walked away and hid in the darkness.

"So what are the teams?" Heather asked, appearing from behind some sort of wall. "Hey Summer," she said with a laugh. Someone else was there too but she wasn't sure who it was... "And how many people are here?" Heather tugged at her vest a little, trying to make it more comfortable. Already, she was excited about the game. The more people, the better.
Good job, Duke, Heather thought, smiling, inwardly congratulating him on choosing such a good place to go. She wouldn't have thought of this, and it was definitely more fun than grabbing a bite to eat at Jack Astor's. Who didn't love laser-tag?

"Heather? Hey!" she said smiling. She shot her consideing she was on the opposing team and then ran away. "Sorry Heather!" she said laughing. Why was this game so much fun?? She wasn't exactly sure, but it did take out a lot of frusturation.

"Hm, depending on how many people are around here," Duke began, popping up in a hole in the wall, "Have you two seen anyone else? There's bound to be more people."
He smirked over at Heather- she seemed thoroughly pleased, and that was mainly what he was focused on. Besides that, there was, as always, having the best time he possibly could now that he was in the company of friends.
Duke could only laugh when Lindsay got ahead of herself and shot Heather. God that girl had the ability to make him crack-up. "Go get 'er, Heather," Duke rhymed unknowingly.

Summer saw Duke out of the courner of her eye and shot him. "MUHAHAH!" She said and ran away. She didn't want Duke to get her back. That would suck! But she did enjoy beating him. Atleast this was one thing she could beat him at.

Heather gave a small scream as Lindsay shot her and her gun gave a beep. How many times could you get hit before you were out? For the life of her, she couldn't remember. Ducking behind a wall, Heather looked over at Duke. "Aren't you going to play?" she asked him playfully. With a laugh, she jumped out from behind the wall and shot at Lindsay, hoping it would hit her. Then she moved farther into the maze of the Lazer Zone, into the darkness.
"Who all is here?" Heather yelled, hoping she wouldn't give away her position. She didn't want to get hit again and be the first one out; that would be lame. So far she knew there was Lindsay, Summer, herself, and Duke. Well, that made four. Better than two.

Duke winced when Summer shot him, scurrying away much like Lindsay had moments before. Backing up against the wall, he realized he only had four more shots until he was out. He heard Heather call out to him and grinned. "I think it's time for some revenge, huh? What do you say?" Duke connived, looking down the direction in which Heather had taken off.
The score was as followed:
Heather: 4 Duke: 4
Lindsay: 5 Summer: 5
Last person standing won the game for their team.

"I agree!" Heather called, speaking of revenge. She had shot at Lindsay, but she wasn't sure if it hit, and she and Duke were behind. Hiding behind a large box, Heather set down her gun for a moment and tied her hair out of her face with a rubber-band. Shooting a grin at Duke, she got up, leaning halfway over, and quietly ran behind something else, looking for Summer or Lindsay. Where had they got to?
In her moment of no action, Heather wished more people would come. When there were ten people to a team, laser-tag was unbelievably fun. You didn't even know who you were shooting at. Once again, Heather adjusted her vest and made sure it wouldn't fall off while she was running or doing something of the like.
"Duke!" Heather motion him over, smiling. "We need a plan."
